In June 2006 the first Bray Garden Walkabout was launched. This proved to be a very successful day and was enjoyed by hundreds of garden enthusiasts. All monies raised went to Bray Meals on Wheels. The committee of 2006 decided that it would be nice to hold another walkabout this year of 2009. The number of gardens opening has gone from 7 in 2006 to 13 this year and many of the gardens will open on Saturday and Sunday. Teas and coffees will be served at some of the gardens and limited plant sales will also be available. As before the Delgany and District Horticultural Society's Summer Rose Show will take place in St. Thomas's Community College. An added delight will be a Flower Festival in St. Andrew's Church Quinsboro Road Bray. Proceeds from the Garden Walkabout will go to the Martin Codyre Trust Fund, a local Bray man who suffered a severe spinal cord injury and is now paralyzed from the chest down. Garden open days are Sat 27th and Sunday 28th June Opening Times are as follows Gardens: Saturday 10am to 5 pm Sunday 11 am to 5 pm Flower Festival: Saturday 11am to 5pm Sunday 1pm to 5pm Horticultural Show: Saturday 2.30pm to 5pm Admission: €25 Gardens, Festival and Horticultural Show. €5 for Flower Festival only or Individual Garden.
